Youth Art Opportunities
AFTER SCHOOL ART CLUB AT UVA!
Ages 9-12 meet Tuesdays
Ages 13-18 meet Thursdays
Times: 3:30pm-5:30pm
If you’re looking for a space to explore new mods of creating, learning skills and artistic vocabulary, and connect with other young artists – UVA’s After School Art Club is the place to be! In this after school program, middle and high school students will meet once a week to engage with a monthly theme to guide their projects. The After School Art Club is a multi-week program that run on a monthly basis, with each age group meeting once a week with a professional artist instructor.
Artists ages 9-12 will meet on Tuesdays and artists ages 13-18 will meet on Thursdays. Each program is first-come first serve with limited spots available per group. Scholarship opportunities available!
ART CLUB ELEMENTARY
AFTER SCHOOL ART PROGRAM FOR LITTLES

3:30pm-5:30pm
For our youngest artists, UVA will be starting “Art Club Elementary”! This after school program will be offered to ages 5-8, and will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Like our teen-oriented Art Club, this will be a monthly opportunity with a different theme to focus on each month. Leading the month of September will be instructor Kate, teaching”Multimedia Madness!”
This program is first-come first serve with limited spots available per group. Scholarship opportunities available!
Field Trips
Douglas County classrooms are invited to UVA for an afternoon of art activities. A traditional field trip includes different art experiences, a tour that tells the history of UVA’s building, and a walk through current exhibits in the galleries. Artists in Residence
UVA connects Douglas County schools with professional teaching artists and helps coordinate residencies that meet each school’s needs. Residencies can be designed to focus on a curricular theme, a certain medium, or on specific art skills. Typical residencies are one to two weeks (20 hours per week).
Art Express
Bring the arts into your classroom: grounded in art history and focused on exploring the social meanings of art, these lessons are fun and engaging! The one-hour lessons are led by trained Art Express volunteers.

Payment and Refund Policy: Full payment at time of registration is required. Up until two weeks prior to the start of the event, you will receive a full refund (minus a $10 service charge) should you need to cancel your registration. However, cancellations made after this two-week time frame are nonrefundable. Should UVA cancel the event, all participants will receive a full refund or credit toward future classes.
