A Celebration of the Arts

The 2009 Summer Arts Festival will be held here at the arts center in the grounds of Fir Grove Park on

June 26, 27& 28.

All applications will be on the web on January 15th, 2009.  The early bird gets the worm!!

The Umpqua Valley Arts Association’s 41st Summer Arts Festival will be a celebration of art, music, food, community and summer.

The Umpqua Valley Arts Association’s (UVAA) will present its 41st Summer Arts Festival on June 26, 27 and 28, 2009, at Fir Grove Park. 

Along with 130+ artisans, food court, beer and wine garden, two stages for entertainment and a Kid’s Art Area, also featured will be a 5K fun run/walk and demonstrations from the Douglas County Remote Controlled Flyers.

Inside the Arts Center will be artwork from the Membership Show, area artists in studio east and Gallery II, and Debbie Kelley of DK Designs.

The main stage entertainment schedule will be a great highlight of the weekend.  Entertainment to be announced at a later date.

The Kid’s Art Area will be open on Friday, 12 – 5 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.  A variety of free activities allow kids to create their own artwork, including clay and painting.

Admission is a suggested donation of $3.  Contributions support a variety of local program like Arts in Education, services to artists, year-round art exhibitions that are free and open the public, classes and pottery studio.

Festival guests can park in the parking lot located northeast of the soccer fields or take the free shuttle running from Stewart Park to the festival.

The shuttle schedule will be available here at a later date.

Whether you want to shop for art, relax with friends while you enjoy food and spirits, listen to the entertainment in beautiful Fir Grove Park or watched your child create their own artistic masterpiece in the free Kid’s Art Garden - the Summer Arts Festival is a celebration of art and community!

Out side the building:

Run Around The Arts - 5K Run. .... for a small participant fee, anyone can walk or run.  Saturday morning 9am.  Same morning registration accepted. 

 

Flying High!  DC R/C Flyers will be doing flying demo's and holding an airplane exhibit for your viewing pleasure throughout each morning of the festival!  Better Duck!

Join us early in the day to enjoy this demo and exhibit of flying machines!

Volunteers are always needed!  Please come and join us and help us keep the arts on the rise!
