Festival’s Theme: The He{art}of Umpqua

Submission Guidelines:

Share your creativity and passion for the 49th Annual Summer Arts Festival by creating an original artwork you think best exemplifies the Summer Arts Festival theme: The He{art} of Umpqua.

Entries will be judged by UVAA’s Gallery Committee and Summer Arts Festival Committee. The winning poster will be used to promote the festival through marketing materials including; Umpqua Valley Arts Association’s website, social media, festival guide, collateral, press releases and signage. The artist will retain ownership of the original artwork and will be publicly acknowledged. This gives an artist incredible exposure!

Email notifications will go out on Friday, February 24th, 2017.  The winning artist will need to send UVAA’s Gallery Director, Sandee McGee the High-Resolution editable file no later than Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in order to participate. The winner will be announced to the public by March 1st, 2017 through UVAA’s website, social media and other communication mediums.

Rules of Entry:

Open to all artists to submit up to (3) entries of two dimensional artwork/s. Open media. Entries must be original works of art and entirely created by the entrant. No work will be accepted which is in violation of any copyright.

Submission Requirements:

• Create an original two-dimensional artwork that you think best exemplifies the Summer Arts Festival theme: The He{art} of Umpqua

• All artwork must be at least 11”x17”, or must be scaled down digitally to 11”x17”.

• Digital image’s resolution must be at 300 dpi

• The entries must be submitted in JPEG format, however artists must also keep their working/editable files for future use.

• Images must be labeled as per this example: John M. Smith = SAF_POSTER_JSMITH_1.jpg, SAF_POSTER_JSMITH_2.jpg ; entries which aren’t named correctly will not be juried.

• No more than 3 entries may be submitted by any one entrant.

Criteria:

•Entries submitted must be digital JPEG files. Entries will be judged by the juror/s from these digital JPEG files.

•Artwork must be two-dimensional with the ability to be scanned and reproduced.

•Artists may not substitute another work for an accepted work nor withdraw the work once it is accepted.

•All artwork must scale down to 11”x17”, 300dpi.

•UVAA reserves the right to reproduce artwork from digital images for publicity purposes.

Terms & Conditions:

I certify that each of my entries are an original work of art and entirely created by me. I understand the final version of my poster will be subject to change as it will be modified by the Umpqua Valley Arts Association to use on festival materials including; the Summer Arts Festival website, social media, posters, apparel, postcards, program information, collateral, press release, signage and other communication mediums. UVAA reserves the right to reproduce artwork from digital files for publicity & advertising purposes. I have read and understood the terms and conditions and know that I may not substitute another work for an accepted work nor withdraw the work once it is accepted. The artist will retain ownership of the original artwork and be properly credited.  UVAA reserves the right to deny any artwork in violation of copyright.
