Birthday Banners - DOWNTOWN 2009!
To help celebrate Oregon's 150th, Birthday Banners went on display in Downtown Roseburg for all to enjoy!
This project was the art of 39 artists (many UVAA members) who depicted subjects from Oregon to celebrate the Sesquicentennial (150 years) since Oregon became a state.
The banners were exhibited on the outside entry during the 21st Annual UVAA Arts Festival and then moved to the streets of the Roseburg Town Center for the Graffiti Days (July 8-12) and continued until the conclusion of the celebration on September 26, 2009.
All of the banners were for sale and the proceeds went to the continuing work of the Umpqua Valley Arts Center.
The original funding for the Banner Project was provided by the City of Roseburg through funds that promote tourism.
Thanks to Marie Rasmussen and her team of talented volunteers who helped to see this project through to completion!
