Juried Exhibits at UVAA - Did you know?

When you send in your prospectus and CD for jury at UVAA, the Gallery Manager processes the application and then assigns an inventory number to each submitted image and burns a "master CD" containing all the images received; most of the time near 200.

This master CD containing inventory numbered images only is then sent to the juror along with a worksheet that contains the image inventory number, the title of the related pieces and the finished sizes.

The juror does not get the benefit of knowing whose image is whose, the juror is not local and is a hired professional.

This way the submitter and the gallery manager are both assured that the jury is fair and not political in any way!

Get Gallery Show Submission Ready

John Waller; Imaging by Fox offers a photography session for artists who need to acquire jpeg images of their artwork for gallery submissions.

John and Judy work together in their studio to provide professional quality, reasonably priced photos of your art for you to use for submissions to juried shows and galleries, on your website, etc.

Any art on paper or other medium which tends to curl or buckle should be mounted (if only temporarily) on a flat board of some sort so that the whole piece will be in focus when photographed.

Art should be unframed if possible, in order to avoid unwanted reflections from glass and to capture the true colors of your art.

Art should be unsigned, but if you have a piece with a signature you want photographed, we can retouch out the signature. It will just require a little more time and cost a little more ($10 for each additional 15 minutes, depending on the complexity of the retouch job).

You can contact John Waller directly to arrange for this service by emailing him by phone at 541-672-1103 or by email at johnwaller@qwest.net
Please let him know how many pieces you will bring and if any of them are 3-dimensional or will require other special setup time. Also let him know if you have signed pieces so extra time can be allowed.

He allows 15 minutes for each art piece, and the cost is $10 per art piece (with exceptions noted above).

UVAA Opportunities to Show Your Work

Gallery II provides a cost-free and convenient opportunity and location for local member artists to display and sell their work. The area is limited to two-dimensional artwork and is rotated every 8 to 9 weeks.   The Corridor Gallery is the highly visited space in the Arts Center and averages great sales.  Artists will need to submit a sample of work for the selection committee. All work must be properly finished and ready to hang. Contact Aleta McGee, Gallery Manager, at (541)672-2532 to take advantage of this opportunity.
