CHARLES WALDMAN - SONORA CA ARTIST

4 DAY PLEIN AIR OIL - IN ROSEBURG!  JULY!

"June Clouds" by Charles Waldman

Umpqua Valley Arts Association is fortunate to once again welcome Charles Waldman to the art scene for a 4 day Plein Air Oil workshop.

All levels are welcome! This will be an amazing experience to watch, paint alongside and learn from one of the best! Normally you would have to travel to participate in one of his workshops; this is a great opportunity to take advantage without leaving the area. Charles will be doing demos throughout the day and will give group and individual help including painting demonstrations on site.  Plan to visit concepts like value, color, composition, edges and just simply learning to "see, simply."  If weather becomes problematic, the class will be held at the Arts Center.

Charles started painting in 1988 with a friend, landscape painter Heine Hartwig. He also studied with Clyde Aspevig.

The workshop will cover the fundamental principles of painting and composition as well as learning to ‘see’ as an artist. If there is inclement weather we will work in the UVAA studio from the students’ personal reference materials.
